DESCRIPTION:The Kansas City Health Department\, in partnership with Community Capital Fund (CCF)\, is offering free doula services to Kansas City\, Missouri residents with a doula of their choosing through the Doula Scholarship Program\, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Doulas play a vital role in improving maternal and infant health by offering personalized care\, advocacy\, and emotional support during pregnancy\, birth\, and postpartum. Research shows doula care leads to better outcomes\, including fewer cesarean deliveries\, shorter labor\, and reduced postpartum depression. ABOUT THE VIRTUAL EVENT:This virtual information session provides residents with information on the program and how to apply to receive a scholarship.
